"It is scripture alone, not conservative Evangelical tradition or any other human authority, that must function as the normative authority for the definition of what we should believe. The authority of the scripture means that all the words in scripture are God's words in such a way that to disbelieve or disobey any word of scripture is to disbelieve or disobey God." - Dr. Wayne Grudem
I am a Christian. The third of 10 children and first-born son. I love my family and spending time with them. I hope to raise several of my own children someday. I enjoy hard work. I'm very old fashioned. Farming and being self-sustaining are two interests of mine. I love singing or whistling, spending time in the Word, and learning how to be a true gentleman and godly leader.
Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.
Blessings
The Bible calls children a blessing and debt a curse, but in our culture we apply for curses and reject blessings.
AMEN! Have you read Grudem's Systematic Theology? It's Awesome!

I have not read it. I'm berried in books already :)
ReplyDeleteOh how the modern day church has gotten away from the sufficiency of scripture. The church needs to turn back to the word of GOD!
